Charlotte Kenealy (2011, History) is the receipient of the Professor Dame Jean Thomas PhD Scholarship.
I was awarded the Professor Dame Jean Thomas PhD Scholarship in October 2015 when I started my PhD, which examines the relationship between world war commemoration and the politics of the union in the United Kingdom since 1994. Without the Scholarship, which provides me with funding for all three years, I wouldn’t have been able to continue to a PhD and would have had to interrupt my studies or leave education altogether. This has made a substantial difference to me, enabling me to continue my passion for studying. I couldn’t be more grateful to those who make such awards possible by donating to St Catharine’s, in particular Peter and Christina Dawson who support my particular scholarship.
