The provisional programme of activities marking LGBT+ History Month 2024 at St Catharine's is below:
1 February: St Catharine’s will mark the start of LGBT+ History Month by flying the Progress flag above the main entrance on Trumpington Street and at the Boathouse. 2024 marks ten years on from the College first flying the flag for our LGBTQ+ community.
3 February: A student-organised 'LGBTeas' event at 3-4pm in the OCR will provide an informal space for the College's LGBTQ+ community.
4 February: The Chaplain will be hosting a conversation about LGBTQ+ identity and faith in her room (A4) at 3.30–430pm, with tea and cake.
11 February: The Chaplain will also be hosting an informal event in her room (A4) at 3.30–4.30pm for anyone who is or thinks they might be on the ace/aro spectrum, again with tea and cake.
12 February: LGBT+ History Month Reception & Formal. Open to the College's undergraduates and postgraduates, with the option to donate to the Kite Trust when booking a space at the dinner.
16 February: ‘Queer Research at Catz’ seminar at 12.45–2pm in the Ramsden Room. Open to all parts of the St Catharine’s community. Presentations include:
- Dr Caroline Gonda (1996), LGBTQ+ Fellow
- Juliette Gilchrist, a second-year English undergraduate
- Yorgos Chatziavgerinos, MCR LGBTQ+ Officer and an Education PhD student
20 February: A literary event in collaboration with the College's Shirley Society, the oldest literary society in Cambridge.
21 February: LGBTQ+ Bop in the College Bar for all St Catharine's undergraduates and postgraduates.
25 February: Movie night in the MCR
29 February: College-organised 'Tea@3' event in the Bar encouraging students, staff and Fellows to take a break together.
29 February: St Catharine’s will mark the end of LGBT+ History Month by flying the Progress Flag above the main entrance on Trumpington Street and at the Boathouse.
Throughout February: Special cocktail and mocktail options will be available from the College Bar, with 50p from every sale being donated to the Kite Trust.
