From 21-29 July, the College will be hosting an intensive training program for Israeli Arab and Jewish junior high and high school teachers. EXCEL is a nine-day professional development program - the first of its kind - that combines peacebuilding, human rights education, critical reflection, networking, curriculum design, and language studies to empower participants with an array of professional skills, relationships and recognition.
EXCEL’s peacebuilding component aims to increase educators’ capacities to integrate the practices of peacebuilding and youth leadership in their classrooms and curricula. Among those involved in the program are renowned linguists Professor Norbert Schmitt and Dr Elisheva Barkon, and Dr Paula Green, a psychologist, professor and international peacebuilder.
In addition to the training, those who attend will engage in cultural activities in Cambridge and London, as well as enjoying a dinner in hall on 25 July.
