St Catharine’s College is one of the Colleges in the University of Cambridge and is situated in the centre of the city. Our main site on Trumpington Street comprises, staff, fellows and undergraduates. The post holder will be based on our main site although duties will cover all off-site locations.
We require an experienced professional with an understanding of all electrical issues, qualified to 17th edition standards and trained to City & Guilds 2391 (inspection, Testing and Certification). Working closely with all departments the post holder will assist with monitoring and maintaining electrical systems that promote a culture of safe working practices across the College. This new role will be the College’s competent person for electrical standards and will ensure that all work is specified to current IEE regulations.
The successful applicant will have a flexible approach to work and at the request of the Maintenance Manager will be able to carry out remedial maintenance, repairs and small scale installation work to the required standards across all areas of the College. The post holder will be an excellent team member with effective networking skills and will have the ability to work flexibly and independently using their own initiative, working enthusiastically to health and safety best practice.
