Update (16 March): The College’s 2020 telephone campaign has been halted, as the College responds to the escalating public health threat posed by coronavirus (COVID-19). The safety and wellbeing of our students, staff and global community of alumni is of paramount importance to us. For more on the College’s response, please visit www.caths.cam.ac.uk/FAQ.
In March 2020, our team of 13 enthusiastic students will be picking up the phones to talk to alumni all over the world about Catz.
This is an opportunity for students and alumni to share their experiences. Alumni can gain an insight into life in College today. The students can learn from those who have gone before them.
As well as updating you on College news, the team will be seeking support for the College's campaign, Our College, Our Future.
Students thoroughly enjoy exchanging stories and value the advice they receive. We hope you will enjoy speaking to them too.
This year, we are focusing on two very important initiatives that will benefit students for years to come:
Both projects have the power to transform the lives of our students and strengthen our whole community, ensuring that no-one is barred from studying due to financial hardship, and helping Catz attract the best students.
The value of your donation to the remodelling of the Hall and central spaces could be doubled, thanks to a matched funding challenge established by Christina (2016) and Peter Dawson (1974). Until December 2021, all gifts received will be matched on a pound-for-pound basis, up to a maximum of £4 million in donations. This could provide £8 million for the project.
First-time donors giving to student support initiatives such as bursaries, sport or wellbeing, can double the impact of their gifts. The Harding Challenge, created by David (1979) and Claudia Harding as part of their £100 million gift to Collegiate Cambridge, will match donations to student support projects. This matched sum will be directed to students in greatest need across Cambridge.
