College Society Annual Reunion and Dinner - 22-23 September 2018
The St Catharine's College Society invites all Members to its Annual Reunion, to be held in College on 22-23 September.
All alumni of St Catharine’s are members of the St Catharine’s College Society, founded in 1923, and all members are invited to our Society’s Annual Reunion in College, this year on Saturday 22 September.
It’s the occasion when every member, from the oldest to the youngest, can return to College, stay the night, and enjoy the best that a weekend in Cambridge has to offer. The welcome extends to a partner or guest for each member, and also to Associate Members (next-of-kin who have agreed to be part of the Society). The Reunion is therefore a gathering that spans generations and backgrounds. It is a unique mix of experience and memories, all rooted in affection for a place and a community of friends that have been formative influences in our lives. We hope you will join us this September.
A special welcome is extended to those who started at College in years ending in “8” (1948, 1958, 1968, 1978, 1988, 1998, 2008) and to those associated with our Society President Keith Cocker (1972) who will be ending his year of office and who looks forward to meeting his contemporaries.
The Society will be providing 20 reduced-price places (£20 reduction) for members who matriculated (started at College) in 2008 and later. If you matriculated at St Catharine’s in or after 2008, please click here to purchase your ticket at this special price.
The Reunion will include a talk by the Master, Tea in the SCR (the old Hall for those of a certain vintage), jazz in Main Court and later in the Bar, the Society’s AGM, Evensong, pre-prandial drinks, a grand Dinner, the post-prandial Bar, and student accommodation in College for those staying the night if they wish.
Dress is black tie or dark suit, or equivalent.
The Master, Professor Sir Mark Welland, will also be with us for the Dinner, at which our President will speak on behalf of the Society, and the Master on behalf of the College.
Of additional interest is the University Alumni Weekend, where the University Departments and many Colleges offer lectures, tours and other stimulating experiences—see https://www.alumni.cam.ac.uk/events/alumni-festival-2018. Some Members attend both events.
Our Society Reunion is always most enjoyable so do join us, and do encourage your contemporaries to join you also! Booking details are below.
