Advice for St Catharine's students: Packing list

This list has been developed to help you consider what to pack to stay well and comfortable during your time at Catz. If you are staying in College accommodation, please refer to the ‘what’s included list’

  • First aid kit for minor cuts and abrasions
  • Thermometer
  • Hand soap and other toiletries
  • A travel-size bottle of hand sanitiser – this can be refilled free-of-charge at four sites: the Porters' Lodge on the Island site, the Porters' Lodge at St Chad's, the Russell Street site and the squash courts
  • Re-usable face coverings – enough so you can wash on a regular basis – and a bag to store your face covering when you are out and about
  • Phone, laptop/tablet and chargers for any devices in good working order
  • Clothing, bedding and towels sufficient for a 2-week cycle between washes
  • Kitchen/dish/tea towels sufficient for rotation between washes
  • Individual cooking, dining utensils and crockery*
  • 2–6 week supply of any prescription medicines, contact lenses, contact lens solution, batteries for hearing aids, sanitary products, etc.
  • A hard copy of emergency contact telephone numbers 
  • Rapid lateral flow tests available free of charge from the UK Government (these can be ordered before or soon after you arrive – you may wish to attend events where proof of a negative test may be requested by organisers/venues)

* For students with bedrooms in L & M staircases, which have been refurbished this summer and include induction hobs, a selection of equipment suitable for these hobs will be provided for shared use by these households.
