Historians' Dinner at the Athenaeum - Tuesday 5 July 2016
In early July, a group of St Catharine’s historians gathered at the Athenaeum Club in London, for a drinks reception and dinner. The event was hosted to mark Professor Sir Chris Clark (St Catharine’s Professorial Fellow, 1990) becoming Regius Professor of History at the University of Cambridge.
We were fortunate with the weather, and guests were able to take drinks and canapés outside in the garden.
The dinner itself was convivial, and the highlight of the evening was the opening speech by Guy Beringer QC (1973, History & Law; Fellow Commoner) and the thoughts and inspirations with which Chris Clark responded.
The College would like to thank Guy Beringer (1973), Neil Ostrer (1978), Matthew Collins (1979) and Roger Morley (1989) for their sponsorship of the dinner, which allowed us to offer tickets at a reduced cost.
