St Catharine's is committed to encouraging applications from able students of all backgrounds. In the 2018 admissions cycle, 76.6% of our College's UK Applications came from state school students (University average: 71.4%). Of 2018 UK acceptances, 77.6% were from state school students (University average: 65.2%).
We have a full-time Schools Liaison Officer, Kathryn Singleton, who works with students who may already be considering applying to Cambridge, and those who have never thought of it before! Keep up-to-date with the College's work with schools on our College's outreach Twitter account. You can read Outreach Reports by the Schools Liaison Officer here.
For school visits, the Schools Liaison Officer gives priority to state school students from our link areas:
- North Yorkshire
- Rutland
- Suffolk
- Selected Cambridgeshire schools linked with St Catharine's under the Connect to Cambridge Scheme.
For events which allow individual student bookings, eligibility criteria will be clearly stated in the event description. You can read more about the University of Cambridge's Area Links Scheme and find your school's link College here. If you are a teacher/adviser at a state school in one of our College's link areas and would like to join our mailing list, please contact Kathryn Singleton at slo@caths.cam.ac.uk.
