Postgraduate study

St Catharine's has a vibrant graduate community, comprising about 220 graduates who study a wide range of the Arts and Sciences.

Every year we welcome 80-90 new graduate students, half of whom will follow a research degree lasting several years, while the others will be in Cambridge for just one year, reading for a Masters degree or a postgraduate course. The graduate students make use of the opportunity to study with the Fellows of the College.

The graduate community in College is a rich diaspora of students studying in  Cambridge for a variety of higher degrees. Many are from overseas, some are older, and some are our own graduates. This provides a very relaxed community with a stimulating international flavour.

St Catharine's is a mixed undergraduate and graduate college, so there is also ample opportunity to interact with undergraduates. The medium size of the College facilitates the very friendly and informal atmosphere for which St Catharine's is so well known here in Cambridge.

You can find more information about applying for graduate study in these pages. If you have any further questions, do get in touch using the details on the right sidebar.

The St Catharine's MCR (our society for graduate students) also has a Facebook page where you can ask any questions about Catz or life here.
