Welcome from the Postgraduate Tutors

As Postgraduate Tutors, we would like to welcome you to St Catharine's College. Our functions as Postgraduate Tutors are essentially supportive: we are your first point of contact at the College for advice and information and will assist you on academic, financial or personal matters.

This online pack contains the essential, and some more generally useful, information about starting your time here. It tells you what you need to do before you arrive, and prepares you for the first few hectic days of term. Please read its contents carefully and supply any information we ask for as soon as possible.

We wish to draw your attention to Matriculation. This is your official admission to the University and the College. Unfortunately due to current circumstances, Matriculation has now moved online and further details will be forwarded to you by email at the start of term.

Cambridge is an extremely enjoyable place to study, and we will do everything we can to help you achieve your academic potential here while making the most of all the social and recreational opportunities available at the college. Especially important at Catz is the support given to new students by those in the years above them – and you will be contacted separately by the MCR Committee about activities for new postgraduates, as well as their excellent ‘parenting scheme’, in which you are each allocated a second or third year ‘parents’ to guide you through the world of Catz and Cambridge.

Catz is a very welcoming community, and you will always find someone to help you here. If you have any queries, please contact us on gradtut@caths.cam.ac.uk

We look forward to having you here!

Dr Niamh Gallagher, Dr Fatima Santos and Prof. David Bainbridge
