The Chapel at St Catharine's is a place where all are welcome.

People come into Chapel for a whole range of reasons, and you don't have to be religious or used to attending a church.  The big door on Main Court is open all day every day (and you can use your camcard to get in any time of day or night, via the atrium) and the Chapel is a place for anyone and everyone. There are blankets available for when it gets chilly!

Catz has an active Chapel community that welcomes people from different backgrounds and traditions, and you don't have to be religious to come along to a service. You are welcome to come along to Chapel services either in person or online (most of the services are livestreamed on the College's youtube channel).

  • Chapel is a place where you can come as you are, knowing that you will be accepted just as you are...
  • It can be a way to make friends and meet new people, and discover another way of belonging...
  • It's a place to experience beautiful music, stillness, communal silence, thoughtful words...
  • It's a place for you to nurture your spiritual life, pray, worship and encounter God...
  • It's a place to examine your own values and work out how to live well in a complex world...
  • Or it can simply be a place where you come in to shelter from the sun or the rain and spend some time in peace and quiet.

Daily prayer

I usually pray a simple service of morning prayer in Chapel each weekday at 8.30, and you are welcome to join me either regularly or occasionally if you would like to. A podcast version of the same service is also available. This includes praying for the College community, those in need, the nation and the world. This pattern of daily prayer is part of how I care for the life and wellbeing of the College community and beyond. You are welcome to ask me to pray for something or someone specific by emailing chaplain@caths.cam.ac.uk or writing your request in the book that you will find just by the archway when you come in.

Please do feel free to make suggestions of other resources we can provide for you. In the meantime, please be assured of my prayers and blessings, always.
