Tenor Madness Jazz Trio
The St Catharine's Consort
Byrd and beyond: a jazz/choral collaboration
A renewal of the collaboration between Tenor Madness, led by Catz alumnus Sandy Burnett, and choristers from St Catharine's. The programme takes as its inspiration the music of William Byrd, whose anniversary is celebrated this year; and gives a contemporary, improvisatory twist to the work of the Renaissance master. Also featuring the first performance of a new cycle of motets by Christopher Fox, designed to complement Byrd's Mass for Four Voices.
