St Catharine’s is one of the oldest Colleges in the University of Cambridge, founded in 1473, and is centrally located within the heart of this historic city. The College is a unique venue and will provide a stunning backdrop for your wedding day.
Although the College is not licensed for civil weddings, for alumni of the College we are able to offer Anglican services in our beautiful Chapel - please contact the Chaplain in the first instance if you would like to be married in St Catharine's.
For all our customers, however, we are able to provide the reception, wedding breakfast and evening entertainment for your special day.
Start the wedding celebrations with a drinks reception outside in our Sherlock Court Lawn, surrounded by the College's beautiful 15th Century architecture, a perfect opportunity to take some photographs.
Alternatively, our stunning Senior Combination Room with old fireplace and wooden panelling can be used as your reception venue in case of bad weather.
After the gong announces dinner, you and your guests will be led to the Dining Hall to be seated for the wedding breakfast. For your evening reception, the McGrath Centre provides an excellent location, combining innovative design within this historical setting. Guests would also have use of the sophisticated and modern College bar, where you can dance away the night with your family and friends.
Our experienced team will provide support and manage every aspect of your event, from the planning stages, right through to the finer details to make sure your special day is remembered for the rest of your life.
We would be delighted to show you around our venue and have the opportunity to discuss what we can offer in more detail. If you would like to make an appointment or require any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.
