Find out about the Music Society of St Catharine's College, Cambridge

St Catharine's College Music Society is one of the most active music societies in Cambridge. We hold regular events in College that cater for as many musical tastes as possible.

We hold termly orchestral and choral concerts, at which any member of College is welcome to perform. The May Week concert is the biggest and most well attended concert of the year, held on Main Court itself. The orchestra performs a wide range of popular classics, film and show music, with Pimms and strawberries served in the interval. We have also put on a series of special concerts performing new music by St Catharine's College students, including a new opera and student composers' concerts.

We are very lucky to be able to present the Kellaway Recital Series, made possible by the kind donations of Donald Kellaway, which welcomes professional musicians to Catz to perform and give masterclasses, as well as performances by talented St. Catharine's students. We also hold the popular fortnightly concert series 'Chill in the Chapel'. It gives the opportunity for anyone in college to perform any type of music they wish (from classical to pop) in a casual and relaxed atmosphere, with cushions, candles and hot chocolate served afterwards.
