Vaccination Advice

It's important that vaccines are given on time for the best protection, but if you have missed a vaccine, contact your GP to catch up.

Important

The University advises students to have the following vaccines before arriving at Cambridge:

  • Meningitis (MenACWY): all students are strongly advised to ensure they have received the MenACWY conjugate vaccine.
  • Mumps, Measles, and Rubella (MMR): all students are strongly advised to ensure they have received two doses of the MMR vaccination.
  • COVID-19: all students are strongly advised to ensure they have received two doses and a booster dose.
  • Influenza (Flu): If you suffer from chronic lung, heart, kidney or liver disease or have diabetes or are otherwise immunosuppressed, please discuss having the NHS flu vaccine with your doctor.

The NHS also advises that if you're eligible for the HPV vaccine, make sure you've had 2 doses. It helps protect against genital warts and cancers caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), such as cervical cancer. If you missed either of your HPV vaccines at school, you can still ask your GP for this vaccine until your 25th birthday.
