St Catharine's Alumni Festival 2021

On Saturday 13 March 2021, St Catharine’s hosted its inaugural Alumni Festival, with 300 Members and friends joining us virtually from all around the world, including the USA, South Africa, Hong Kong, Uganda, Australia and Chile. We were delighted that we were able to welcome so many Members, matriculating between 1948 and the present day.

Members were able to participate in three fascinating lectures given by Professor Abigail Brundin (2000), Dr Simon Taylor (2009) and Dr Peter Wothers MBE (1988). Recordings of the lectures can be viewed below:

Devotion or witchcraft? Policing religion in Renaissance Italy.

Professor Abigail Brundin, Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Subject: Modern and Medieval Languages (Italian):

What is the outlook for China-US relations?

Dr Simon Taylor, Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Subject: Management Practice (Finance):

Rebuilding St Catharine’s – model.

Dr Peter Wothers, Fellow of St Catharine’s College, Subject: Natural Sciences (Chemistry):

Members and Friends were able to take a virtual tour of College through an interactive map of the island site to explore up-to-date news, an archival exhibition and short films about College life and our fundraising campaign. Members were also able to recreate real-life conversations in decennial year groups through virtual meeting spaces. Films featured during the virtual tour can be viewed below:
