Catz celebrates LGBT+ History Month

St Catharine's is proud to fly the Rainbow flag above the centre of Cambridge to mark the start of LGBT+ History Month today. The flag will also be flown on 28 February to highlight the conclusion of a month of activities designed to increase the visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (“LGBT+”) people, their history, lives and their experiences.

  • 1 February: Flying the Rainbow flag
  • 7 February: Welfare Tea for students via Zoom
  • 22 February at 4pm: Zoom discussion on 'LGBT+ Identity and Faith' (Meeting ID: 854 1408 4453  Passcode: 010671) - open to everyone, all faiths or none
  • 24 February: Catz Fellow Dr Caroline Gonda (1996) explores 'Anne Damer’s Place in Queer History' for an online event hosted by Strawberry Hill House. Book your ticket.
  • 24 February: 3-4pm, Welfare Wednesday Create-a-long drop in session over Teams, promoting creativity and connection 
  • 25 February: 9.30pm, Night Songs service in the College Chapel, live-streamed via YouTube with music chosen by LGBT+ members of the St Catharine’s community, including the music of Hildegard of Bingen (full details and order of service here). 
  • 28 February: Welfare Tea for students via Zoom

  • Date tbc: Online film screening of 'Pride'
