St Catharine's basketball team sees great success

10:10, Thursday 11 April 2019

The St Catharine's College basketball team has achieved 3rd place among 25 teams in the regular season of the College League, a feat made even more remarkable by the fact that Catz had been in the bottom division just two years earlier. Having built on last year's success, where they started the year in Division 2 before winning all of their games and being promoted to Division 1, their result was praised by the current champions from the Gurdon Institute, and guaranteed the team its place in next year's first division. Catz also got direct access to the second round of Cuppers, where they comfortably beat Christ's College, thus moving on to the quarter-finals, scheduled for Easter term.

Current team captain Francisco Huhn said, "These achievements are the result of team work and regular practices, which could not exist without the commitment of every player".
