Development Officer

St Catharine’s College, Cambridge, is inviting applications for a Development Officer to join the Alumni and Development Office (ADO).

The ADO fundraises for the College and organises a wide programme of events and communications for alumni. In 2019 St Catharine’s launched a Campaign, ‘Our College Our Future’, which seeks to raise £65 million to fund student support, College life and the revitalisation of College buildings and spaces. Currently we have raised £55 million towards the target. The ADO are now working to engage the College community and successfully complete the ‘Our College, Our Future’ Campaign.

The ADO are now looking for a Development Officer to assist with the Campaign administration and act as Executive Assistant to the Development Director. This position will appeal to someone who is confident, well-organised and flexible, and who is keen to build a career in alumni relations and development.  Being part of small team, we are looking for someone who is able to work on their own initiative and who can demonstrate a positive approach to problem solving.

The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

  • Act as Executive Assistant to the Development Director, covering a broad range of activities including securing meetings for the Development Director with major donors and members of the College community, coordinating calendars and travel arrangements.
  • Coordinate the Campaign Advisory Group and provide administrative assistance in producing papers for College committees.
  • Provide administrative support to the Fundraising Manager and Development Manager for campaign efforts including direct mail appeals, digital marketing and the Telephone Fundraising Campaign.
  • Assisting the Development Manager to develop the existing donor stewardship plan.
  • Providing administrative support to the ADO team including alumni enquiries, data tasks, communications and events.
