St Catharine's marks the National Day of Reflection

Tuesday 23 March 2021

Tuesday 23 March marks a year since the start of the first national lockdown and charities, including Marie Curie, have proposed a day of reflection. Among the different ways for communities to commemorate this anniversary, a minute’s silence is being held at noon.

Professor Sir Mark Welland, Master of St Catharine's College, commented, "Anyone wanting to take this opportunity to reflect has the full support of the College, provided it is safe for you to do so. I will certainly be taking a moment to think back on the various ways our students, staff and Fellows have supported each other through an exceptionally challenging year. To show that the College is marking the day of reflection, we will also be tying yellow ribbons around the two trees at the front of the Island site on Trumpington Street."

Dr Edward Wickham (2003), Fellow and Director of Music, has also prepared a special playlist of music. Members of the College community can hear the music playing in the College Chapel as part of the 'TIME OUT/TUNE IN' sessions at 12.30pm every day this week, or listen on Spotify at anytime.
