Dr Chiara Ciccarelli

Fellow
Subject: Natural Sciences
Director of Studies in Physics and Astrophysics
University Assistant Professor and Royal Society Research Fellow in Physics

Chiara Ciccarelli is a Winton Advanced Fellow and Royal Society University Research Fellow in the Department of Physics. She moved to Cambridge in 2008 to do a PhD. From 2012 to 2016 she held a Junior Research Fellowship at Gonville and Caius College. She is interested in quantum spin-effects in magnetically ordered materials. In the past years her research has focused on current-induced torques in spin-orbit coupled ferromagnets by using microwave transport techniques. She also recently setup a lab on time-domain THz emission spectroscopy to study these effects at 1000 times faster timescales.
