Sports highlights (Weeks 7 & 8)

The following highlights from various sports clubs and teams were compiled from recent reports. If any captains or team members have a result that you'd like to feature in the next round-up, please contact comms@caths.cam.ac.uk.

Lacrosse

Congratulations to the St Catharine’s mixed team on securing promotion to Division 2 after a successful term. A recent highlight was a 10-1 victory against the Vets team, largely because of the number of St Catharine’s students on both teams! (The Kittbag)

Hockey

The mixed team’s final game of the term was a 4-0 victory against a combined Emmanuel-Murray Edwards team, with Alex King (a final-year Natural Sciences undergraduate) scoring a hat-trick. (The Kittbag)

Rugby

The men's team have been declared "one of the favourites for Cuppers" and started off their campaign with a first-round victory against Downing College, "destroying them" 38-7. (Varsity)

Netball

The mixed team faced an “intense” five-a-side game against Lucy Cavendish but walked away with a 11-7 victory. (The Kittbag)

Well done to the women’s team on securing their first win of the academic year against Selwyn. (The Kittbag)
