Senior Sous Chef

Based in the heart of Cambridge, St Catharine’s College is looking to appoint a full time, permanent Senior Sous Chef to join our busy, friendly Catering team, providing a first class service for our  community. This post will assist the Head Chef in the development and delivery of all meals in College.

It is an exciting time for our College with the development of our ‘Central Spaces’ and the catering team have now moved into the brand new, multi-million-pound kitchen, which is helping us to further improve our catering offer.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a good breadth of experience, skills and achievements gained from working within a catering environment.
• Have the ability to assist with sourcing locally produced products and serving high quality meals to students, staff, Fellows and conference guests.
• Ensure the highest standards are maintained in order for us to continue to surprise and delight our customers.
• Ensure all hygiene, health and safety standards are adhered to and the College’s Health & Safety policy are complied with. 
• Supervise duties giving technical advice and guidance when necessary.

Benefits and working arrangements

• FTE salary £36,000 per annum.
• Full time hours are 40 per week, to be worked on a rota basis, including the requirement to work some evenings and weekends.
• The successful applicant will be subject to a six month probation period.
